The Kingdom of Morocco is reacting legitimately to the provocations of the new Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Self-determination of Kabylia:

Following the hostile intervention of the new Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the issue of Moroccan territorial integrity during the general debate of the ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement, the permanent ambassador of Morocco to the United Nations Mr. Omar Hilale, lambasted the flagrant contradiction of Algeria's position, on the subject of the right to self-determination, by recalling precisely the legitimate demands of the Kabyle people.

Because in an awkward way, the new Algerian head of diplomacy addressed the issue of the Moroccan Sahara, during his very first international outing during the meeting of the movement of non-aligned countries, while the question was neither inscribed. on the agenda of the meeting, nor in connection with the theme of the session.

Indeed, the Moroccan Ambassador’s statements on Kabylia sparked a violent and hysterical reaction from Algeria.

A statement from the Algerian Foreign Ministry immediately followed, stating that "Algeria strongly condemns this particularly dangerous drift, calling Omar Hilale's words a" dubious diplomatic act ".

This same department argues that an "official note" emanating from the Moroccan diplomat would have been distributed to the member countries of the Non-Aligned Movement, the content of which formally enshrines the engagement of the Kingdom of Morocco in a campaign hostile to Algeria, to through public and explicit support for the 'right to self-determination of the Kabyle people' which, according to the said note, would suffer 'the longest foreign occupation' ”, adds the press release from the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 And to add that

"This Moroccan diplomatic communication is adventurist, irresponsible and manipulative", before concluding that "In the situation thus created by a dubious diplomatic act committed by an ambassador, Algeria, sovereign and indivisible Republic, is entitled to await a clarification of the final position of the Kingdom of Morocco on this extremely serious incident ”.

In fact, during a virtual meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement, on Thursday, July 15, 2021, Omar Hilale had criticized Algeria for setting itself up "as a fervent defender of the right to self-determination, and for refusing this same right to the Kabyle people, one of the oldest peoples in Africa, who endured the longest foreign occupation ”. He added that "Self-determination is not an à la carte principle. This is why the valiant Kabyle people deserve, more than any other, to fully enjoy their right to self-determination ", added the Moroccan diplomat.

It should be noted that the military junta, which rules Algeria, has made hostility to the territorial integrity of Morocco an existential issue. Not a day goes by without this junta, with elected puppet officials and crooked generals, attacking the territorial unity of the Kingdom in the name of "the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination". Omar Hilale has every reason to confront the Algerian regime with its contradictions.

When a country wants to defend the right to self-determination, it must first respect it at home.

However, the Kabyle people are the object of all discrimination in Algeria. These people persecuted by the regime of Algerian generals have the right to self-determination. Therefore, Morocco should support the (Movement for the Self-Determination of Kabylia) which militates peacefully.

But unlike the military junta in power in Algeria which arms and finances the separatist movement in the Moroccan Sahara, the Kingdom on the other hand will be content only to support only legitimate pacifist movements recognized by the international community.
